What a week! Happy to have you here reading to complete it. It’s been perfect weather so far for our weekend back home, and I can’t wait for wedding #2 of the year! I’ll keep it brief because it’s time to get outside and enjoy the some of the best company.
Three Things that Made the World Beautiful Last Week
Celebrating M&J and exploring the University of Notre Dame! If you read this, we love you dearly and had the best time <3
Maggie Rogers - I’ve been looking forward to this concert for a while, and I’m so glad it worked out. It was the perfect summer night!
Wedding fashion - yes another wedding topic but it’s just so fun to see everyone dressed up to celebrate love and have fun. Love a good couple of dresses to trustily re-wear and get more life out of.
Conversation: Tastes, Evolving
I never really liked gerbera daisies. I love almost every flower, but this one I could not come around to. Something about it said lame, cheap, and whatever other negative connotation descriptor.
Fast forward and what did I buy from the Trader Joe’s floral section? Red gerbera daisies. All it took was a few Pinterest algorithm pins while I was searching for some ideas to flip the switch. And my mom (hi!) brought up a fair point… but why not like them? I never found an arrangement with these giant daisies that I ever really liked. They never sat right in my brain, and I never gave them a fighting chance. But seeing a few tasteful interpretations and having the nudge, they really aren’t so bad after all.
This really isn’t that deep, but it also is fascinating to see our own tastes evolving throughout our lives. Tastes as in: physical taste, design tastes (different from trends), and in general, as preferences. One day I couldn’t be found looking at gerbera daises, the next, I’m buying them for my apartment. It also feels a bit like a walk down memory lane. Nostalgic for what brought us some happiness and harmony at different stages of life.
This is the deep part: it reminds us of our humanness.
I’ll keep it short and sweet this week! A moment to leave you to reflect on and fully enjoy in on what you’re currently loving because that’s the part that matters!

A Prayer to Share
Dear God - thank you for our ability to evolve.
Thank you for our tastes to bring us the joy we need at the time we need it. You make every moment extra special and perfect in ways we cannot fully comprehend. Your love is complete and everlasting even when the world and our tastes may be fleeting. May we always lean into your love and guidance.
Amen!!

I had never heard of those flowers…but then I saw the pic and it totally reminded me of those fake flowers we used to have in our room growing up 😂 I love the fit, the flowers, and agreed- my tastes have evolved so much over the years too, in the best ways! ❤️
